Argentina

I spent a month with my immediate family visiting other family and doing some general tourism, visiting Buenos Aires;

Cordoba, where my mother and uncle live; and Bariloche, a popular ski resort town.

I was putting the final touches to my thesis, so I spent some time in hotel rooms. This one is in Bariloche

and this was some of the scenery I could experience….

….while this lake is pretty much the view from the room. Pleasant surroundings for some last minute writing creativity.

The left of the photo is the stadium of the famous Boca Juniors football club. The house is painted in Boca colours.

OK, time for some (semi-)humorous pictures. A boliche is a dance club / disco / party. Note my post allnighter face.

My brother and I decided to sample the local club scene, where the doors close when it’s light.

Now, any sensible person would go straight to bed, but our parents cunningly organised a daytrip.

My brother appreciating a good store name.

The toilet humour continues…. This is in Buenos Aires.

This guy looks like Che Guevara’s sidekick in Motorcycle Diaries, aptly named Alberto.

Argentina has beautiful meat and beautiful. Picking a steak of one’s choice is somewhat easier.

Argentina can also do Haute Cuisine,  but usually the ingredients are good enough to not have to bother.

Some family pics: black t shirt is second cousin, Baril shirt is first cousin, then my brother and me.
