Nuffield College is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the 2011 Brettschneider Awards. The purpose of these awards is to facilitate academic exchanges (student or faculty) between Oxford and Cornell University, principally in the social sciences. The funding is mainly intended to cover travel and accommodation costs. The fund is administered at Nuffield College, Oxford and at Cornell by the Institute for European Studies - http://www.einaudi.cornell.edu?Europe/about/brettschneider.asp. These awards are made possible through a generous gift from Mr Michael Borkan, an alumnus of Cornell University and Pembroke College, Oxford, in honour of whose maternal grandparents, Abraham and Henrietta Brettschneider, the Fund was launched. Any single award is unlikely to exceed $2000 and applications for smaller sums are welcome. The award is limited to faculty, post-doctoral researchers and post graduate students of Oxford University. How to apply: There is no application form for this award. Applicants are asked to submit electronically a copy of their proposal, including a CV, to: academic.administrator@nuffield.ox.ac.uk The 2011 application round is now closed.
