Current Awareness

Current awareness services allow you to discover new information more actively by signing up for alerts or RSS feeds. Below we describe services relevant to the social sciences. For all, it is worth being on the Oxford network to ensure full access.

Table of contents services
Informaworld - register for this free service to receive an email when content is added to the site, including all new journals from Taylor & Francis, Routledge and Psychology Press.
IngentaConnect - sign up for alerts relating to new issues of a range of journals or related to a previously-designed search.
SwetsWise - register for alerts or set up an RSS feed to receive tables of contents for specific journals.
Zetoc - access a database of tables of contents, produced by the British Library, which covers 20,000 research journals including those in politics, economics and sociology. See our blog post for details on how to use search, alerts and RSS.

New publications
Nuffield College Library - stay current on our latest books by viewing our accession lists or subscribing to our RSS feed (point your reader to this link).
UKOP e-mail updates - provides regular e-mail alerts of new documents added to the UKOP site.

Saved searches
Google Scholar - Conduct a search and then click on the envelope on the top left to create an email alert for any future results from the query
International Bibliography of the Social Sciences - Complete a search and select "search history/alerts". Mark the desired search and choose "save searches/alerts".
Web of Science - Conduct a search and then click on "search history". Select "save history" and from there customise your future alerts.
