This is a snapshot of Lucy descending the Spanish side of the Pic d'Enfer in the Pyrenees. The exuberant flowers are wild rhodedendrons, which are extremely common in both the Pyrenees and the Alps. The Pyrenees are lower and further south than the Alps, so the climate is better for flora and fauna (it is warmer and sunnier). The abundence of plants and wildlife makes the Pyrenees one of the finest destinations for walkers and birdwatchers. |
