Cross-country skiing

We skied down to this grove of Giant Sequoia trees in Yosemite National Park. As you can see, this tree was in the way of the road - so they put the road straight through it. A tree this size is about 2000 years old. A spring visit to Yosemite is really wonderful because the weather is usually sunny and warm, but 99% of the other tourists (3 million of them) don't arrive until the summer. You don't need to be able to ski to go in the spring. Most of the attractions are only a short walk from the road; and you can get to the more remote attractions by walking for about an hour on snowshoes. Snowshoeing is very easy: if you can walk, then you can snowshoe!
